Adventures start with takeoff

We begin our story with our amazing pilot, Grant Starrs, who has over 30 years’ experience flying around the southern coast of BC. He knows the area, it’s history and lore, and would love to share it with you and everyone who flies with him. It’s how we met Grant and now he’s Adventica’s chief pilot.

When we initially started conceptualizing our company, we imagined providing private chartered aircraft adventures packaged with boutique luxury lodges and resorts. The packages were to feature local destination expertise, sustainable practices, locally sourced gourmet food, and wellness retreats focused on rejuvenation, personal discovery, and renewal. And here we are, welcome to Adventica.

Our Amphibious Secret

Floatplanes are a perfect plane in this part of the world where landing on water is vital. We take it to the next level with our amphibian plane. You may wish to start (or end) your adventure at an airport where a tarmac runway is required. An amphibious plane gives us this flexibility. Enjoy the thrill of landing on the Fraser River upon your return to YVR, and then taxi up the ramp onto dryland. Easily maneuver from water to land through the backdoor of Vancouver’s Million Air private airport.

For your safety

We decided we will always have two pilots in the cockpit of our Cessna 208 Caravan, designed to be flown by one person. Weather on the southern coast is sometimes unpredictable and, although we always hope for idyllic conditions and sunny days, we live in a rainforest which brings rain, fog, mist, and winds off the ocean. There’s good reason why everything is always so green! If ever conditions turn gnarly, having two heads upfront gives that added layer of support and safety.

For those who like technical descriptions, our plane is state of the art. It features a full Garmin glass cockpit with synthetic vision, Satellite Weather, Terrain Avoidance System, Traffic Alert System, and a full back up Garmin system on its own independent power/battery which sums up to a very safe plane. Our Cessna was built for the southern coastal region and features jet turbine power for added reliability and comfort. We love our amphibian’s capabilities to fly over the many lakes and ocean bays and can land anytime during our flight if the situation requires it.

Flying at low Altitude

The beauty of our plane is the altitude at which it can fly. With the flexibility to fly at lower elevations, you’re offered an incredible opportunity to view the scenery and wildlife. Flying low over the mountains and herds of mountain goats, we can circle them and get as close as possible without spooking the animals to capture terrific photos. From the mountains we take you to the water’s edge to view the sea-life, the plane’s pontoons skimming the water.

Small Groups

We only book up to 6 passengers for each package. Please contact us if you’re wishing to book all 6 spots and we can discuss a special rate for group pricing.

Sustainability

We have partnered up with Team Trees and for every flight we fly, we plant 100 trees all around the world including BC Canada, USA, and other locations. See https://teamtrees.org. We also donate to the conservation efforts at parks we bring guests to, like Princess Louisa.
