Day 1 | Arrival in Brazil | Amazon | You’ll arrive at the Manaus airport where your guides will greet you and drive out about two hours to the Amazon Rainforest, where you will be staying two nights in the immersive Juma Lodge. En route to Juma, we stop to observe the magnificent Meeting of the Waters, where the muddy waters of the Solimões River meet the black waters of the Negro River. At this crucial junction point, the two rivers – with different speeds, temperatures and consistencies – run side by side for several kilometers without mixing, ultimately joining to form the great Amazon River. You’ll be able to feel the difference in temperature between the two rivers! Once we arrive at Juma Lodge, we will be able to embark on a canoe ride in the world’s largest river archipelagos, where you will have the chance to witness pink dolphins (if arriving by noon)! Afterwards, we will go caiman spotting in the evening, led by a wilderness guide. Lunch and dinner will be included. Note: A morning pick-up could be done if staying the previous night in Manaus. Ask us about our Seaplane Tours, where we can offer you a quick 30-minute flight to the lodge via hydroplane! |
Day 2 | Amazon | Juma Lodge | Wake up and enjoy an included breakfast at the Lodge, and prepare yourself for two full days of wilderness adventure! There are plenty of exciting tours offered from the Lodge that aim to preserve the Amazon’s natural ecosystem and limit human interference with its wilderness. Today, we will be observing an unforgettable sunrise in the Amazon, an excursion that involves waking up early with the sounds of the birds. Our guides will have be equipped with binoculars, to complement the experience with ample bird watching. Afterwards, we will do a jungle hike, where our expert guide will teach us of the medicinal and nutritional properties of the native plants we’ll encounter. After lunch, we will go piranha fishing until sunset. Lastly, we will watch an informal lecture from a local guide, who will teach us about the everday life in the Amazon, local tales and legends, and the overall culture of the region. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are all included on this day. |
Day 3 | Amazon | Juma Lodge | After our included breakfast, we will embark on a guided hike through the jungle where we will stop at an enticing spot for a barbeque and picnic. We’ll then visit an Amazonian native who will share his knowledge on traditional medicinal plants, demonstrating how manioc flour, one of the region’s main exports, is prepared. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are all included on this day. |
Day 4 | Iguassu | Today marks the start of our next epic adventure in Brazil. After breakfast, we’ll check-out from Juma Lodge and transfer back to Manaus Airport, visiting the Pirarucu Floating Dock along the way. Here, you’ll have the chance to feed the Pirarucu – a “giant” freshwater fish that can grow to over 3 meters in length! We’ll then board our flight to Iguassu. We’ll arrive at Foz do Iguaçu Airport and transfer to our hotel. After check-in, we’ll have the afternoon and evening evening free to relax. Breakfast is included in the Amazon on this day, while guests can enjoy lunch and dinner at leisure in Iguassu. |
Day 5 | Argentinean Side of Iguassu Falls | We’ll enjoy an included breakfast at the hotel - fuel for what’s to come. We’ll then leave for our visit to the Argentinean Side of Iguassu Falls. We’ll make a quick visit to the Visitors Center, an interpretative building with giant panels showing the importance of the biodiversity of the surrounding subtropical humid forest. To get to the catwalks overlooking the falls, we will board a gas-propelled train that will take us to the Upper Falls Circuit and the Devil's Throat. Once there, we’ll take a walking tour on a flat catwalk built over the Upper Iguassu River, a distance of 1100 meters that will lead us to the lookouts, presenting panoramic view of this magnificent fall: The Devil's Throat. After our adventure, we’ll head back to the hotel, where dinner will be enjoyed at our own leisure.
Additional trip add-ons include sunset cocktails in front of the falls, a picnic in the garden overlooking the waterfalls, and a cachaça tasting experience.

On this day, we’ll have the option of hiking towards Urca Hill (220 m | 40 minute trail). The first part of this hike is steep, so it can be decided at the time of - however, hiking this trail will avoid lining up for the cable-car!
|
Day 9 | Departure from Brazil | On our final day, we will say our goodbyes over our last included breakfast and depart Rio de Janeiro.
